In the past 2 months there have been exploits published to the web on this and every other distribution of linux. In order to mitigate these I have upgraded the kernel on the server to prevent access to this exploit and keep the server secure.
Also during the last kernel upgrade I also installed a second hard drive to work as a backup drive. Should the main drive fail your data will remain intact and be able to be restored from this secondary drive.
